Freedom Meditation offers several courses that will enhance and grow your meditation practice. Courses include ongoing 3-6 week or full weekend-long meditation experiences. More information below. We also offer shorter classes for more options.

Meditation and Discussion Courses

M & D Courses are 3 to 8 week courses that meet 1-3 times per week. These courses have a specific focus for discussion based on interest and need. Courses include Meditation for Mental Health, Writing with Meditation, Meditating through Grief, Meditation and Addiction, the Meditating Athlete and more. Hard Head Mental Toughness Training

We also offer our Hard Head Mental Toughness courses in 6 levels. You must complete these courses in order level 1 through level 6. Hard Head courses are offered in two different formats, a full weekend retreat style course (one weekend, Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday) or a six week course that meets three times a week for an hour. Whatever your needs, we can be flexible in guiding you to complete the Hard Head Mental Toughness courses. These courses/retreats provide longer, more focused sessions of sitting and walking meditation that can be challenging and will help develop the perseverance and mental toughness of a warrior. Hard Head Level 1 Level 1 establishes an understanding of our basic goodness. Through gentleness, especially toward ourselves, we begin to cultivate an appreciation of our predicament in life. We see who we are and what we’ve been given through a new lens of calmness, gentleness and goodness. Lengthy practice is broken up by walking meditation, a short talk, and discussion. These are weekend-long or 6 week courses that develop community and establish a foundation for growth in our practice.

Hard Head Level 2 Level 2 is a discussion and meditation on being present in daily life. Our meditation practice actually has a point, a goal, and that is to begin to carry a calm, present mind into our daily lives. As our practice develops, we begin to realize what we’ve been missing in our lives because our minds are often on other things rather than being focused on the present. The “present” is that which is happening to us now and oftentimes gets swallowed by the humdrum of life, our egos, and our judgments of ourselves and other. We often find ourselves replaying events or conversations from our pasts or stressing about events in our future rather than being in the now. We practice to be present, to give basic respect to those we are with each moment of the day.
